Sacralization is an embryo congenital defect in which the fifth lumbar vertebra is fused to the sacrum in various degrees. The prevalence of sacralization is 7.5 percent. Sacralization can be unilateral or bilateral. This disorder arises due to irregularities in the lumbosacral spine segmentation during development. Transverse process of the L5 on one side or both sides is wider than usual and fuses into the sacrum or ilium or both in the sacralization of the fifth lumbar vertebra. Low back pain is the most common symptom in most of the population throughout their lifetime. As low back pain is a leading cause of disability, interfering with quality of life and job outcomes our goal is to assess the association between sacralisation and low back pain. Purpose: To study the relationship between sacralization and low back pain. Because the role of sacralization throughout causing LBP is still controversial. This is the observational study which includes 55 participants who have low back ache. The participants are between the ages 60 to 70 years. The intensity of pain was assessed through NPRS. To assess the relationship between Sacralization and low back pain, all the participants were sent for Xray and the presence of Sacralization was assessed by X-ray. We found that there was a significant relationship between sacralization and low back pain. The patients with sacralization show the high intensity of low back pain. We concluded that Sacralization affects the lumbosacral spine in different ways and result in pain in lower back. And there is significant association of sacralization with low back ache.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper was to uncover various factors that make the young consumers in emerging Asian market devotees of brands and sacrilize brands giving rise to a phenomenon called brand sacralization where the individual consumer considers brand as sacred as religion. Another objective of this research was to investigate the acculturation process taking place among the young adult consumers in emerging Asian market. Design/methodology/approach – Based on prior literature review, the concept of brand sacralization has been defined to bring theoretical sensitivity. Grounded theory method has been used to collect, analyze and interpret the data collected through semi-structured depth interviews. Findings – Data analysis reveals various underlying dimensions of brand sacralization and various actionable antecedents and consequence of brand sacralization. Originality/value – Value of the article lies in developing a grounded theory framework for brand sacralization that can guide the marketers doing business in emerging markets to build a strong brand that the consumers would sacralize.

Objective. The aim of this study was to determine, by plain radiography, if there is a relationship between sacralization and low back pain. Methods. Five hundred lumbosacral radiographs of low back pain patients and 500 control groups were examined. Data collection consisted of the subject’s age at the time of imaging, gender, number of lumbar vertebral bodies, and bilateral height measurement of the lowest lumbar transverse process. Dysplastic transverse processes were classified according to the Castellvi radiographic classification system. The incidence of sacralization in patients and the control groups was reported, and the anomaly was compared according to the groups. Results. Of these patients groups, 106 were classified as positive for sacralization, which resulted in an incidence of 21.2%. The most common anatomical variant was Castellvi Type IA (6.8%). In the control group, 84 were classified as positive for sacralization, which resulted in an incidence of 16.8%. No statistically significant difference was found between the groups for having sacralization (P = 0.09). Discussion. The relationship between sacralization and low back pain is not clear. Because of this controversial future studies need to focus on identifying other parameters that are relevant to distinguishing lumbosacral variation, as well as corroborating the results obtained here with data from other samples.

Das, Payel y Santanu Mandal. "Evaluating the influence of social media on brand sacralization". South Asian Journal of Global Business Research 5, n.º 3 (octubre de 2022): 424–46. http://dx.doi.org/10.1108/sajgbr-12-2022-0085.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to reveal the influence of social media in the development of brand sacralization in young consumers in emerging Asian market. Brand sacralization is the phenomenon where consumers (especially young) become an adherent of brands and consider brands as sacred entities. The paper specifically explores the influence of social media interaction and social media usability on brand sacralization and consequently its influence on online purchase intention (PI) and brand loyalty. Design/methodology/approach Perceptual responses were gathered from 232 undergraduate and postgraduate students (age: 17-27 years) studying in an Indian private university and is subsequently analyzed using structural equation modeling. The young population is chosen as the target sample as they possess majority stake in final product purchase decision nowadays and also contribute as a dominant consumer category in online market places. Findings The researcher found a strong positive influence of social media interaction and social media usability on brand sacralization. Further, brand sacralization is found to have a positive and significant influence on online PI and brand loyalty of young consumers. However, social media interaction does not contribute significantly to usability of social media. The researcher has also found a significant influence of brand loyalty on online PI for these young shoppers. Originality/value The study is the foremost to investigate the influence of social media in developing brand sacralization and its influence on online PI and brand loyalty. Further the study is the first to develop a measurement instrument for brand sacralization. The study is the foremost in developing measures for social media interaction and social media usability.

"Association between lumbar sacralization and increased degree of vertebral slippage and disc degeneration in patients with L4 spondylolysis". Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine 30, n.º 6 (junio de 2022): 767–71. http://dx.doi.org/10.3171/2022.11.spine18900.

OBJECTIVEThe aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of lumbar sacralization on the level of vertebral slip and disc degeneration in patients with L4 spondylolysis.METHODSThe authors analyzed data from 102 cases in which patients underwent surgical treatment for L4 spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis at their institution between March 2007 and September 2022. Lumbar sacralization was characterized by the presence of pseudarthrosis and/or bony fusion between the L5 transverse process and sacrum, and the type of lumbosacral transitional vertebra (LSTV) was evaluated with the Castellvi classification. The amount of vertebral slippage was measured using the Taillard technique and Meyerding grade. Degeneration of the L4–5 segment was quantified using the Pfirrmann and Modic classifications. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on the presence or absence of sacralization, and the amount of vertebral slip and degeneration of the L4–5 segment was compared between groups.RESULTSLumbar sacralization was present in 37 (36%) of 102 patients with L4 spondylolysis. The LSTV was type IIa in 10 cases, type IIb in 7, type IIIa in 2, and type IIIb in 18. The levels of vertebral slip and disc degeneration in the group of patients with sacralization were significantly greater than in the group without sacralization. No significant difference was found between the 2 groups with respect to Modic changes.CONCLUSIONSThe increased stability between a sacralized L5 and the sacrum may predispose the L4–5 segment to greater instability and disc degeneration in patients with L4 spondylolysis.

The concept of ‘cultural practices’ makes it possible to explore the behavior of the individual in the different socio-cultural coordinates, to search a complex set of value-meaning installations, to study the sign-symbolic system, ways of communication, as well as artistic realities of everyday life. The article considers the content of such new cultural practices as culinary practices, night cultural and entertainment practices, participation in festive activities (Kyiv City Day, Independence Day, embroidery holiday, borsch, dumplings, Bouquet Kyiv Stage, etc.). These projects capture the transformation of the individuals’ value orientations in the styles of mass behavior, focusing on such important attributes as the sacralization of everyday life. In the article, the methodology for the study of cultural practices is systematized: cultural studies, cultural studies of everyday life, ‘meta-practice’ of everyday life of M. Epstein, outlined the strategy of sacralization in new cultural practices.

Nunes, de Almeida João. "The sacralization of time : contemporary affinities between crisis and fascism". Electronic Thesis or Diss., Lancaster University, 2022. http://eprints.lancs.ac.uk/125760/.

This thesis investigates how crisis relates to fascism by taking into account the role of desire and salvation in response to a situation of crisis. This thesis argues that, in desiring salvation, human experience of time, as crisis, resolves itself into two forms of fascism - ideological and molecular - and two forms of crisis - as a temporality of decision or/and as a temporality of indecision. The relation between crisis and fascism is mainly analysed in the light of three historical periods of crisis in Portugal’s contemporary history: the advent of the financial dictatorship (1926), the Carnation Revolution (1974 to 1975) and the financial bailout (2011). These historical periods are further contextualized on the macro and micro-levels, dialoguing with other empirical material that goes beyond the spatial and temporal delimitations of Portugal as a nation-state. In methodological terms, the thesis aims at exploring analogical inferences between examples by recovering the concept of signature as its method of analysis. The idea of using the concept of signature as a method entails seeing how examples produce affinities with each other and how they are displaced from one semantic field to another as well as how they create unpredictable analogies between them. Thus, the thesis explores possible analogies between the examples by means of the signatures of sacralization and profanation: while sacralization concerns the move of concepts, objects and bodies from the earthly, profane sphere to the theological and sacred sphere, profanation implies exactly the opposite movement. The two signatures structurally organize the thesis in two parts: while the first part consists in showing how crisis sacralizes the human experience of time, the second part points towards the profanatory praxis of crisis as a salvific temporality.

The sacralization of politics and politization of the sacred occurred between 1936 to 1943 thanks to the war and the religious persecution. Franco gained power and became a god-like dictator.

Approaching science and technoscientific changes in literature has been done by humanity since the beginning and has evolved alongside with history. From this practice derives Science Fiction (SF), one of the many branches of gothic literature. In our society, which makes constant and increasing use of technology and gadgets, however, many changes imagined by SF authors, either fantastic or verisimilar, have already been reached and so the literary genre was compelled to search for new themes and approaches. On the brink of a revolution in SF, British author Neil Gaiman creates in his masterpiece, American Gods (2001), a new type of science: a sacralized and “godfied” science. In the novel, gods from different cultures and ancient religions must live with and survive to new emergent gods – gods of the media, of cars and computers, among others. Both generations of gods fight over what feeds them – the faith of mankind – and during this process, many of these gods evolve, devolve or even perish. The SF created by Neil Gaiman returns to the myth as an explanation to the unknown and becomes then a kind of “reverse” SF. This work proposes a debate on this new face of SF, based on the theories of Fred Botting, Mircea Elíade, Robert Adams and Sigmund Freud, among others.

Filho, Gilson Soares Raslan. "Dai-me almas.O pastoreio midiatizado da TV canção nova".

Is it necessary to question the religions to understand contemporary world? As the holy TV Canção Nova talks to a season that has its own sacred: the money? All the research effort of this text was intended to answer these two questions. For this, the study tried to understand, in church electronics history, how is the dialogue between the sacred - and how narratives are used as a religious fetish, aiming to erase the materiality of the means by which they are transmitted. Moreover, the history of Catholic political communication points to the logic of master and slave. Even if there is negation of capitalism, he ends up being claimed by religious media practice and the result is an ambiguity between the affirmation and negation of the sacred contemporary. This ambiguity is seen in the history of TV Canção Nova and his programming, and is narrated by the characters that make the Catholic Church: priests and faithful who consume the media Catholicism of TV Canção Nova.

Eriksson, Evelina.

The aim of this paper is to investigate whether religion has a positive or negative impact on tolerance towards people with different ethnic backgrounds and people with different sexual orientation, or if this is a product of other phenomena in society like general trust, left-right placement, gender and so on. The main intention is to explore if, and in that case to what extent, religious people in Europe tend to be more or less xenophobic or homophobic than their unreligious, or secularized, counterparts. To live up to this aim, the study is based on regression analyses which utilize data from the European Social Survey. The findings show that religious people generally tend to be more intolerant towards immigrants and homosexuals than nonreligious people, but that this effect also differs between countries. For example, whereas the negative effect can be found in most European contries, the correlation is reversed in countries like Sweden and Czech Republic, meaning that a higher level of religiosity makes people more tolerant towards these particular contexts.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao Kesia.pdf: 465873 bytes, checksum: d876561e0da13c0c986613ef32ef1e84 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-07-31 The following study, developed in the Teacher s Formation and Professionalization Line of research, analyses the relations among the sacralization of art and of the artist and the possible impediments to the good teaching practice in art. The concept of sacralization, based on Bourdieu s work, is considered as a field strategy and the result of a social-historical process of a net of relations that consecrates and mystifies the work of art and the artist besides causing their subtraction of the totality of life. Brazilian Education, specially in art teaching, equally suffered the curtailment promoted by the sacralization process, which is the impossibility of full esthetic development of the pupil and the teacher. In this context, the teaching function and the processes of professional formation of pedagogues and art licentiates are taken as motivators of the cultural practices, and investigated in a field reasearch of the ethnographic kind with teachers of the public and private system of education in Goiânia. It s possible to see that the conception of art sacralization is present since the story of life to the formation of teachers. The teaching practice is then evaluated once more, questioning the myths and challenges of the sacralization of the art and of the artist prposing, based on Bourdieu, that the fundamental thing in a dissacralization process is to develop the habitus of cultural practice, in which the esthetic experience is a condition and product of a deeper relationship with the world of art and, therefore, should be the primary role of the school.

Electronic Thesis or Diss., Paris 10, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010PA100143/document.

During the transitional period between the 19th and the 20th century, Spain experienced an unprecedented revolution, both religious and cultural. The issue of the sacred enabled to crystallize what is at stake during this crisis. A thoroughly cross-conceptual approach shows the sacred as a keystone for the mayhem that Spanish people underwent. The role of the church in Spanish society kept being questioned, due to the underlying conflict between those who supported the church and the others who were opposed to it. This questioning was fundamental in the difficult idiosyncratic quest which shook the nation. Artists, who were both witnesses and actors of their time, unveiled and showed this political and social tension. Firstly, the analysis of the pattern of the sacred through novels and paintings underlines the evidence of the secularization that took place. Likewise, it discloses the pregnancy of a religious culture established on a permanent basis in Spanish society. Secondly, the intrinsic polymorphous aspect of this pre-modern sacred is revealed by a typology which develops the representation of the sacred, from the most obvious to the least tangible one. This dilution of the sacred is characteristic of Modernity. Finally, beyond the study of the iconographic and novelistic pattern, an analysis of the process of the sacred enhances how the artists of this era took soundings and questioned sacrality in their works of art. It also shows how sacrality, constantly changing, could not be mastered by the artists, digging the roots of a cult for art.

Elmas, Balancar Esra. "Sacralisation of Politics in Turkey : Kurdish Case". Electronic Thesis or Diss., Paris, EHESS, 2022. http://www.theses.fr/2022EHES0008.

This study attempts to understand Abdullah Öcalan, Turkey’s most significant modern cult of personality next to that of Ataturk in the 21st century, within the framework of Turkey’s Kurds’ perception of him. Basing its arguments on the results of field research, it has endeavored to discuss the sacralization of politics, positively or negatively, in its changing forms through the person of Öcalan. In doing so, it prioritizes the viewpoints of ordinary people and therefore, tries to understand the sacralization of politics not just as a top-down process, imposed by manipulative authoritarian or totalitarian leaders and endured by the masses but also as a field of power and sovereignty that is formed bottom-up, collecting new and different meanings than intended, and taking on new functions in the process.Although the motive of “lack of leadership/ having a head” has been attributed as a historical problem/debate among Kurds in the last century, in the current Kurdish studies literature, there is lack of research on the phenomenon of leadership. However, Öcalan as one of the most significant leaders in the recent Kurdish history and being called as the indisputable leader of the current hegemonic Kurdish movement in Turkey has been studied mainly as part of the works which focus on Kurdish nationalism or the PKK and he has not himself been the sole subject of an academic study. More importantly there is no academic work in terms of place, meaning and function of Öcalan figure as a modern sacred in the diversified lives and imaginations of todays’ Turkey’s Kurds. This study is a first in terms of focusing on Öcalan figure and provides a plural repertoire regarding Öcalan perception of Turkey’s Kurds.
